This Very Moment
One day it will be our last sunset,
One day it will be our last toes in the sand,
One day will be our last unexpected slap in the face
From that one wave we didn’t see coming.
But today, just hold my hand,
Feel the warmth of this fleeting instant,
And let’s cherish it one more time.
Today, can we let all our burdens float away on the breeze?
Today, can we open our hearts and embrace kindness?
Today, can we release the chains of our past,
And immerse ourselves in the beauty of the present, dreaming of our tomorrows?
Today, yes, this very day,
Can we let go of life's relentless chaos?
Can we stop dwelling in our sorrows?
Can we cease pointing fingers,
And turn away from shadows of negativity?
Today, yes, this very day, this very moment,
Can we find gratitude in the simplest breaths we take,
In the sheer gift of being alive,
One precious day at a time?
Starting today, let’s bow our heads together,
Let’s walk in faith side by side,
Let’s infuse each day with a fervor for living,
A clarity of purpose,
Faith in the promise of our future,
Hope for humanity,
And an enduring kindness towards each other.
Let us strive to make this world gentler,
One soul at a time.
