The Right One

The Right One

No matter how well you treat a man,

If you're not the one he truly wants,

He won't appreciate your efforts,

Hearts tugged by indifferent haunts.

The worst feeling, trying to be the right woman

For the wrong man, lost in a forlorn quest,

Even at your best, you won't be enough,

No embrace or kind word will bring rest.

Stop trying to make something work

That isn't meant to be, let go of the strain,

When the right man steps into your life,

You’ll know, without the need for pain.

Communication will flow like a river,

Attention granted without force,

You’ll be valued and respected,

Love’s true path, a natural course.
