Shattered Trust
When trust is broken, it's hard to mend,
The pieces of a heart that once did lend.
The shards of faith, the fragments of love,
Leave scars that linger, sent from above.
When trust breaks hearts, it's harder to trust again,
The wounds run deep, the pain remains.
The memories of what could never be,
Haunt the soul, a melancholy sea.
The ghosts of what was, whisper in my ear,
"Be cautious, beware, don't trust so dear."
The fear of hurt, the fear of pain,
Makes it hard to trust, to love again.
But still we yearn, for connection true,
For hearts that beat, with love anew.
We search for trust, in eyes that shine,
And pray that love, will make us whole in time.
Yet, when trust is broken, it's hard to heal,
The trust that's lost, the love that's real.
It's a fragile thing, this trust we hold,
Easy to break, hard to mend, a story oft told.
