Fragile Dreams
They were happy, yet tears of joy,
To reach their destination, a new life to employ,
But tears of sadness, to leave their homeland dear,
Many sacrifices made, to gather their things and persevere.
Their eyes came alight, with dreams to achieve,
Ambitions ran high, so much to do, so much to see,
Plans were made, luggage all packed,
Goodbyes were celebrated, a bittersweet moment attacked.
Hugs, kisses, tears, smiles, and laughter too,
Their final words, before boarding, a moment or two,
But fate had other plans, a sudden change of course,
The plane came down, and their dreams were lost, of course.
A huge fire was seen, dreams shattered and cold,
Death took them all, in its icy fold,
The last-minute pain, the hurt, the emotions high,
They must have gone through, as they said their final goodbye.
Their bodies scattered, some burnt beyond recognition,
Sadness and sorrow, everywhere, a tragic affliction,
Their destiny met them, in a moment's time,
Their plans, but it wasn't meant to be, a fragile rhyme.
The uncertainty of life, we just never know,
Death is sure, but when, how, and why, we can't foretell, though,
It's a truth for all, a reality we face,
A fragile existence, a delicate, human pace.
