Body and Blood
In solemn procession, they carry Him high,
The Body of Christ, a symbol to the sky,
A feast of faith, a day of adoration,
Corpus Christi, a celebration of divine creation.
The streets are decked, with flowers and with pride,
As the faithful gather, side by side,
The scent of incense, wafts through the air,
As they honor the Sacrament, with reverence and care.
The priest holds high, the Host so bright,
A symbol of love, a beacon in the night,
The congregation kneels, in devotion deep,
Their hearts aflame, with love that does not sleep.
In this sacred ritual, they find their peace,
A moment's solace, in the world's wild release,
A time to reflect, on the sacrifice so true,
Of Christ's own body, given for me and for you.
Oh, Corpus Christi, a feast so divine,
A celebration of love, that's truly sublime,
May our hearts be nourished, by this sacred meal,
And may our spirits, be forever healed.
