A Silent Storm
Once she was the sunshine in his eyes,
His heartbeat, his everything, his prize.
He was the light that lit her skies,
Her everything, where true love lies.
But then the storms of life did come,
With burdens more than they could bare.
Hope was lost, his heart broke too,
Seeing his family suffer, love withdrew.
His heart bled, the tears ran dry,
Sorrow and pain, too much to deny.
She tried her best, kept things together,
On minimum wage, through stormy weather.
He grew weaker, day by day,
Suffering in silence, with nothing to say.
Unable to be the man he should,
His health declined, beyond what he could.
Peacefully, he died in sleep,
A silence fell, so deep, so steep.
No words could capture the air,
In the silent storm of their despair.
