It is painful to leave you
But it is even more painful
To stay with you
The damage is done
All is said
And done now
I continue to hope
That thing will get better
But it never did
After all these years
How wasted I feel
In the end, I had to leave
While I still have life in me I forgive you
For all that you did to me
But the marks of abuse
You have engraved in my heart
And life will never be forgotten

An echoing sound in my head
The pain endured
The wounds I cannot bear anymore
Oh have mercy on thee
The scares I wear
Like jewels on the body
Now I walk away
With all these memories
That will stay with me
