District Legal Services Authority Pooch celebrated "International Women’s Day” in Govt Higher Secondary School Sheeshmahel.
On the direction of the Legal Services Authority of J&K, under the able guidance of Chairman DLSA Poonch and Secretary DLSA Poonch, International Women’s Day was celebrated. In this program, about 150 students and staff members of the school participated. This program was organized with the collaboration of Principal GHSS Sheeshmahel Mrs.Anjuman Shaheen. Mr.Wajahat Hussain Kazmi Secretary DLSA Poonch was the Chief Guest of this program whereas Mrs.Anjuman Shaheen Principal Girls Hrs. Sec. School Sheshmahal was the guest of honor. Both of the dignitaries spokes on the occasion of International Women,s Day.
The guest of honor laid stress on bringing gender equality in our society. She also laid stress on the education of the girl child which is the only method to remove gender inequality from society. In this program Advocate, Bhanu Partap who was also the resource person also spoke on the occasion and highlighted various laws schemes, and other elements launched by Govt. of India to bring gender equality in our country. Some speakers from girls students also spoke on the occasion.
All the participants were also given tea and light refreshments. The staff of District Legal Services Authority Poonch along with Paralegal volunteers of District Legal Services Authority Poonch were also present at the function.
